Faculty of Fine Arts of Pontevedra
The Faculty of Fine Arts of Pontevedra, created in 1990, was the first of its kind in Galicia and one of the major cultural bets of the new university roadmap promoted by the Regional Government of Galicia. From the beginning, it was conceived as a space open to experimentation and contemporary thought, and today it is one of the most recognised faculties in the Spanish university art context.
This year, the Faculty becomes one of the exhibition spaces of the Pontevedra Biennial, hosting in the Professor Manuel Moldes University Room, belonging to the Vice-Chancellor's Office of the Pontevedra Campus (University of Vigo), the Novos Valores section, a historic exhibition linked to the Museum of Pontevedra in which the talent of young artists is shown and celebrated. The active participation of the Faculty of Fine Arts and the Vice-Chancellor's Office of the Pontevedra Campus strengthens the dialogue between emerging creation and the town’s cultural structure, as well as the Biennial's commitment to the new generations.
