Bienal de Pontevedra

At the Pontevedra Biennial, Yasmeen Abdullah explores universal themes such as human connection, love and truth, establishing a dialogue between past and present, between historical and contemporary influences. Abdullah researches our capacity to empathise, resist and find resilience, focusing on hope, empathy and altruism as the fundamental drivers of human experience. Her proposal includes three paintings, Light Keepers (2025), Layers of the Truth (Think of Others), from 2025, and Code to Survival (Love), from 2025. Layers of the Truth (Think of Others) invites us to look beyond appearances to discover shared truths and proposes that only through empathy and altruism can we recognise the vulnerabilities connecting us.
