Bienal de Pontevedra

This photographic triptych by Wang Guangyi reflects on war and its consequences. In this piece, the artist addresses the poetics of suffering and transcendence, drawing inspiration from works such as Los desastres de la guerra (The disasters of war) by Goya and Susan Sontag's analysis in Regarding the Pain of Others. Wang seeks not only to touch viewers, but also to invite them to reflect deeply on human suffering and on how images of pain can provoke an ethical and compassionate response, beyond the visual. His work makes us think about the role of art in times of crisis and how it can serve as a tool for rediscovering our humanity, beyond the systems dividing us.
