Bienal de Pontevedra

At the Pontevedra Biennial, Yasmeen Abdullah explores universal themes such as human connection, love and truth, establishing a dialogue between past and present, between historical and contemporary influences. Abdullah researches our capacity to empathise, resist and find resilience, focusing on hope, empathy and altruism as the fundamental drivers of human experience. Her proposal includes three paintings, Light Keepers (2025), Layers of the Truth (Think of Others), from 2025, and Code to Survival (Love), from 2025. Code to Survival (Love) presents love as an essential force for human survival, using Morse code as a visual metaphor to suggest that, just like communication, love transcends physical and emotional barriers by acting as a universal language that unites us all.
