Bienal de Pontevedra

For the gothic Santa Clara Church, Marina Núñez has designed an installation-altarpiece on a side wall that still preserves the traces of an old baroque altarpiece. On the central niche, the video Flores heroicas/Lirios (Heroic flowers/Lilies, 2021) is projected. Around the latter is Soñar o que te sueñen (Dreaming or being dreamed, 2025), a piece that covers the fourteen niches of the altarpiece, and shows giant, heroic flowers in cloudy mountain landscapes, from which lightning bolts emerge, connecting the sky with the earth. Surrounding them, there are small, almost ghostly human figures observing and venerating them, thus suggesting a symbiotic relationship between the species.
