Gaza (2024)

At the Pontevedra Biennial, Raida Adon presents two paintings that directly address the suffering caused by the conflict. Gaza (2024) and The Immigration (2024), created during her exile in Paris, reflect the reality of the Palestinian diaspora and the devastation of war. Gaza captures the impact of violence and ethnic cleansing in the region, by using images of famine, displacement and dispossession. The work gives voice to the victims of the conflict, particularly Palestinian women and children, and shows the physical and emotional scars that war leaves behind
