Olafur Eliasson (1967, Copenhagen, Denmark) is an artist interested in perception, movement and physical sensations and in how these factors affect the way we live and understand the world. Influenced by his life experience in Iceland, in his work he shows a concern about nature, about how we perceive and give meaning to our surroundings, using light and perspective to transform spaces. His installations invite viewers to interact, to move inside and touch them, thus turning observation into participation. This blurs the boundaries between the artwork and the audience, and creates moments of reflection that invite us to question about our impact on the world and the environment.
