Christian Villamide (1966, Lugo, Spain) is an artist who mostly works in photography, sculpture and installations. His creations are focused on the relationship between the natural and the artificial, revealing the tensions between purity and human intervention. Through his works, Villamide invites us to reflect on the impact of technology on our environment and on the sustainability of nature compared to the continuous growth of the artificial. Besides his creative work, the artist carries out research work to establish a direct communication with the viewers, generating a space for reflection on both a social and a personal level. His approach brings to mind the concerns of conceptualism, but also draws on the possibilities of contemporary art to question our relationship with the world around us.
