Sandra Cinto
Sandra Cinto's (1968, Santo André, Brazil) work comprises drawing, painting, sculpture and installation. Drawing, as a primary language, evolves into installations merging architecture, gesture and narrative. Complex scenarios evoking turbulent seas, fierce storms and blue skies, which are often linked to the surrounding architecture and disorientate viewers by creating an atmosphere between fantasy and reality. Inspired by the Zen philosophy and the void, Cinto addresses human fragility, memory and nostalgia, and takes us on an emotional journey where the work becomes a space to reflect on society, politics and everyday life experiences.
