Marta Pazos

In the artistic work of Marta Pazos (1976, Pontevedra, Spain), theatre, opera and plastic arts merge, all of them understood as territories of experimentation. Radically committed to reveal silenced stories, especially those involving women's bodies and experiences, she expands conventional narrative structures using an aesthetic defined by the intensive and symbolic use of colour as a device of perceptive affection. Pazos has developed her career in the main theatres and cultural institutions of Spain, such as the Great Lyceum Theater of Barcelona, the Royal Theatre of Madrid, the National Drama Centre or the Lliure Theatre, where she has rewritten classics and contemporary works from an undisciplined point of view, which considers the present. From her studio in Santiago de Compostela, she stands out as one of the most singular voices of the contemporary scenic landscape painting.
