Eva Koťátková

Eva Koťátková's work (1982, Prague, Czech Republic) questions the social and institutional structures defining our everyday lives: the rules shaping the way we think, learn and behave. Influenced by surrealism, her work combines sculpture, text and performance to show the complexity of the relationship between individuals and their environment. Koťátková is particularly interested in marginalised individuals and groups, and seeks new forms of communication that challenge established conventions. Her installations, which include objects, drawings, collages, photographs, videos and texts, invite viewers to discover alternative worlds that provide new ways of perceiving reality.
