La Ribot: LaBOLA

Dance. Running time: 50 min.
In a permanent spiral movement, three performers exchange costumes, give life to objects and compose with the present moment and its accidents. From this movement, fleeting images emerge, composed on the spot in a constantly changing play of colours and registers. Free of all artifice, at the same level as the spectators, LaBOLA invades the spaces and opens an infinite road to imagination.
'I imagine that we could all be non-stop dancing... all at the same time and doing more or less the same thing; transforming ourselves continuously, going through all kinds of experiences; starting, for example, from ourselves. Exchanging shirts, pants, hats, shoes, towels and dresses... shapes, bellies, hair, noses, chicken thighs, skulls... camel hairs, long skirts, raincoats, carpets, tables and chairs, cigarettes and brooms, music and lights, books, mops and knives... Exchanging bodies and lives, stories and lies, women and men; exchanging cheatings, complaints and bums; exchanging name, face and passport'.
La Ribot is a choreographer, dancer and visual artist. Throughout her career, she has been developing a series of works based on exploring the limits of the body, the dance, the performance and the visual arts, always evolving and trying new ways and spaces to show her pieces. In 2021, she received the Golden Lion for her career at the Venice Dance Biennale. She has also won the National Dance Prize and the Gold Medal of Merit in the Fine Arts, both awarded by the Spanish Ministry of Culture, as well as the Swiss Grand Award for Dance in 2019.
