Hugo Torres

Concert. Running time: 60 min.

Five years ago, Hugo Torres discovered a device that allowed him to translate the vital pulsation of plants into musical language. Now he has decided to talk to them and listen to what they have to tell him. Bahía Botánica (Botanical bay) is a conversation between two species, a sonic experience between an animal that tries to find its place in the world and a plant that only seeks the sun and happiness.

Hugo Torres (Viseu, Portugal) is an actor, musician, composer and artistic director. He began his career at the age of six in the company Trigo Limpo, in the town of Tondela. In the 1990s, he moved to Oporto, where he graduated in Theatre and Acting at the School of Music and Performing Arts. From 1996 to 2006, he was part of the regular cast of the São João National Theatre in Oporto. In early 2000, he moved to Barcelona to study film at the Centre for Cinematographic Studies of Catalonia and since 2007 he lives in Santiago de Compostela, a town where he founded the company Voadora, of which he was the artistic director together with Marta Pazos until it closed in 2022. He won a María Casares Award for Best Original Music thanks to his work Tokio3.
