Gabriel Tizón in conversation with Antón Sobral

In this encounter, the photographer Gabriel Tizón will talk with Antón Sobral about his career, marked by social commitment, first-hand testimonies and the poetic power of images.
Born in the town of Ferrol, Spain, in 1973 and educated in the field of photojournalism, Tizón has worked in more than thirty countries documenting forced migrations, armed conflicts and the silent consequences of power and inequality. His critical, sensitive and deeply human gaze has given rise to exhibition and social projects of great impact, such as Causas Comúns and ‘Utopia Project’, carried out both in Africa and in European border regions.
An intimate encounter about ethics in documentary photography, the responsibility of the artist towards injustice and the transformative power of the image as a form of memory and action.
