Cris Balboa: Sinte

Performance. Running time: 60 min.
Sinte (Feel) is a proposal with music as a catalyst, words as a game and dance as liberation. 'Sinte is a journey from my fragility to disarm the shells with which we move through the world and to celebrate that we all are sensitive beings vibrating at different frequencies. I intend to tell my conflict with the world from the smallest, most singular and personal, trying to induce collective moods through electronic music. In Sinte I want to be a DJ of emotions, a DJ who wants the audience to enjoy her sound proposal on all levels, to dance with me or to be part of my emotional striptease as a voyeur. As I understand the scene today, I consider that everything adds up and that we, the performers, are a catalyst of experiences that have to do with words, with the body, with sound, with songs, and that are not differentiated by moments. My aim is that body, word and music become a whole, and the person on stage, a kind of DJ of all this'.
Cris Balboa is a Galician artist interested in presenting everyday absurdity on stage in search of a generational dialogue where words, action, dance, audiovisuals and music are combined in her artistic proposal. In addition, she researches into the possibility of art's social and personal transformation by introducing in her work narrative elements that lie between irony, humour, hedonism or even desperation. She writes from autobiographical elements in order to identify herself with the spectators, reflecting on everyday life and placing her body and experience at the centre of the doubt about what we are. She is currently presenting her latest work, Roland mon amour, in Madrid with the National Drama Centre at the María Guerrero Theatre.
